Rehan Adil held centre-stage as Fly Emirates trounced ECB Greens by 158 runs in the 38th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium on Tuesday night.
The talented all-rounder first hammered a blazing 103 off just 41 balls with six fours and 11 sixes and then claimed five wickets for 47 runs to run through the tentative ECB batting line-up.
Fly Emirates nwasted no time in seizing control of the match when they posted a massive 327 before being all out in the 50th over.
Experienced Amjad Javed (77 off 72 balls with seven fours and four sixes), Arshad Ali (31 off 51 balls) and Lalith Dhanayake (27 off 42 balls) further added to the woes of a struggling ECB Greens attack with some fine batting.
ECB Greens, in reply, were bowled out for 169 in the 36th over with Adil striking repeated blows. Nigel Fernandes also grabbed three wickets, conceding just 17 runs to hasten the end of the ECB innings.
Pankaj Samant (51 off 53 balls) and Dan D’Souza (37 off 71 balls) offered some resistance to the Fly Emirates attack, but their innings only tended to delay the inevitable.
